Happy New Year!

I'm spending my days thinking about:

Knitting, Crochet, Knooking, Hair Pin Lace, Needle Felting, Spinning,

Yarn, Needles, Patterns, Accessories!

Publications - magazines and books

Classes

Student and Customer Projects

ALL THE BEST OF THE FIBER ARTS

My New Years Resolution: keeping you updated on all of the above!

Yarn of the month: Feza - Oriental. One ball of this yarn makes the fringed shawl that is in the picture below. Susan Dingle has re-worked the pattern because we didn't "love" the Feza website pattern. (Our pattern is free.) Each skein has 1/2 of the fringe already cut so you can see all of the colors that are in the ball of yarn.

CLASSES

I'm looking forward to some great classes. A couple of things that we will be adding to the list are Knooking and Hair Pin Lace. Look for these on the March class list!

Tuesdays, Thursdays: call the shop (770-740-0844) to sign up for a session ($20). These are private and semi-private classes for you to learn whatever you would like. Beginning and projects!

Thursday pm - 6:00pm - Susan teaches her $10 class. Come for help on your project.

We will list other classes on the class page of the website.

HELP SESSIONS

Wed. 12 - 2:00pm - Susan will be at the shop to help you fix mistakes and help if you're stuck on a project. These are not teaching sessions for techniques, etc. These are sessions to help you out of a "jam" so you can continue your project!

If you need help at other times, I am at the shop most days (excluding Mondays). Sometimes I'm teaching; sometimes I'm busy helping a customer. Please call the shop to arrange an appointment. I know your time is important, and I want to be able to help you. The best way for me to do that is to set some time aside for you. 770-740-0844

TIPS

CYCA is Craft Yarn Council of America. Bookmark these 2 websites in your computer:
www.craftyarncouncilofamerica
AND
www.yarnstandards.com
The yarn standards site is part of CYCA and has everything you need to know about measurements - sizing charts and standard body measurements.
Also, great info about how to read patterns!

BUTTONS

We have a great selection of buttons: Dill, South Beach, Blue Moon.
You can't do all that beautiful knitting or crocheting without buying the perfect buttons when you need them! So look at our seletion when you come in!

We are looking forward to a great 2012 with you. Let's get started now. I'm going to try to have MY LAPTOP set up for you to browse the internet (Ravelry, etc.) when you want to. AND there are so many other great websites (2 of which I have mentioned above). I consider this a partnership between my customers and me!!!!!!!!!!! So, let me know what your needs are, and we'll do out best to fulfill them.

See you soon.
